The irregularity of outline, use of the rounded arch and elaborate balustrades add to the uniqueness of the structure. The Tabby House is individually cited in the National Register of Historic Places. In 1885 the courtyard was used as a horse carriage turnaround and could possibly be used as additional parking for potential Bed Breakfast. There are many more rooms, although not designated as bedrooms they could be used to accommodate additional guests. The den and greenhouse were added in 1968 and could be removed for additional access to the courtyard, however very accommodating for additional guests or owners suite. The grape arbor was built in 1982, the design was inspired by the Biltmore Estate Gardens. The intra-coastal waterway and 13 miles of pristine, quartz-sand beaches are just a few blocks away.
